About
In 2022, a gracious donor in Oak Park anonymously committed to making a large donation to District 97 each year over the course of three years, which was to be divided among the district’s individual schools based on the percentage of families with FRL (Free and Reduced Lunch) status at each. With the money our PTO received, we established our Wildcare Fund which has now received about $4000 per year which we use to provide financial support for everything from field trip costs to school supplies for families who request it. As the current school year will be the last in which we will receive these funds, we are now faced with raising this money ourselves, which is what this T-shirt and merchandise store aims to do. Whittier mom, Claire Frieling, has designed custom-made shirts for other PTO pet projects at a reasonable price without sacrificing the quality. To support our Wildcare Fund, Claire made this fun and adorable "Where the Wildcats Are" design–and you might be able to figure out where she got the inspiration for the name. :) Your wildcats are going to LOVE this cool cat!
The Wildcare Fund is used to support all Whittier students and families in need, inclusive of but not limited to the FRL family population. These funds can be used for a variety of needs, with the main goal being to increase equity amongst our students as well as reducing barriers to participate in school activities.
Because we are hoping to garner charity funds with this website we have added a tipping feature. Please use this entirely optional contribution feature if you want to donate further, but know that your purchase is already helping the cause.
THANK YOU!!!!
